Early Interventionist
Clemmer College Center of Excellence in Early Childhood Expanding Horizons Early Intervention Resource Agency, full-time Early Interventionist (contingent upon grant funding). Essential functions: Provide direct developmental therapy services to Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) eligible children, ages birth to 36-months and their families, in families' home settings, inclusive child care settings, and via approved web-based technology platforms assist in developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP's); conduct evaluations and assessments using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS3); participate in team planning of early intervention services; provide evidence-based services based on the Family Guided Routines Based Intervention Model (FGRBI); collaborate with early intervention team members, community, and state agencies.
Required: Must hold a baccalaureate and/or masters and/or doctorate degree in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders and speech language pathology or related field. Related fields are social work, nursing, psychology, education administration and sociology. Must have two years of experience working with children, birth to 36-months. Related field degrees require a minimum of three (3) years documented experience working with children with disabilities birth to 5-years of age and their families. Candidates must receive a clear criminal history background check. Candidates must submit official transcripts from institutions of higher education.
Preferred: M.A. or M.S. in early childhood special education, early childhood education, family and child studies (child development), early intervention, or related fields (see definition above); skills in case management, experience in developmental assessments and/or evaluations; direct work with families; and computer/data entry skills.
