Early Interventionist
East Tennessee State University Clemmer College of Education Center for Early Childhood Expanding Horizons Early Interventionist - Temporary 1-year full-time position; contingent upon grant funding.
Essential functions: Provide direct developmental therapy services to Tennessee Early Intervention System (TEIS) eligible children, ages birth to 36 months and their families via approved web-based technology platforms during COVID-19 restrictions and in the families' home setting and inclusive child care settings once COVID-19 restrictions are relaxed; assist in developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSP's); conduct evaluations and assessments using the Assessment, Evaluation, and Programming System for Infants and Children (AEPS); participate in team planning of early intervention services; provide evidence-based services based on the Family Guided Routines Based Intervention Model (FGRBI); collaborate with early intervention team members, community and state agencies.
Required: Must hold a baccalaureate and/or masters and/or doctorate degree in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, deaf education or visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders and speech language pathology or related field. Related field means a degree in social work, nursing, psychology, education administration and sociology. Related field degrees require a minimum of three (3) years documented experience working with children with disabilities 0-5 years of age and their families.
Preferred: M.A. or M.S. in early childhood special education, early childhood education, family and child studies (child development), early intervention, or related fields; skills in case management, experience in developmental assessments and/or evaluations; direct work with families; and computer/data entry skills.
