Consumer Service Representative

Job Description:

  • Receives and receipts cash payments from consumers for electric and broadband accounts; takes requests for connections, disconnections, and transfers; and confers with customers by phone or in-person while adhering to cooperative standards.
  • Greets visitors, answers inquiries or complaints, and/or directs grievances to designated departments for investigation.
  • Prepares cash and checks for deposit.
  • Sustains a high level of customer contact.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Office, banking, and public relations experience a plus.

Skills:

  • Ability to deal with the public under stressful circumstances in a fair, calm, and understanding way and obtain positive results.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:

  • Demands for the position are typical of an office environment and must be met to perform essential functions of the position.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.

Rate of Pay: $14.00 per Hour; Excellent Benefit Package

  • Applicant must pass a drug screen and physical.
  • Applicants may be required to take job-related pre-employment tests.
  • A background check will be required.
