BASIC JOB SUMMARY: The overall purpose of this job is to oversee the Equipment Room and all equipment within this space, Editing Suites, Photography Studio, Audio Control Room and TV Studio in the Bagwell Center. This job requires keeping inventory of millions of dollars of equipment. The person in this position will check out equipment to students as well as provide equipment to faculty for classroom and studio use. Supplies necessary for the function of the facilities as a media technologies learning environment for classes and student projects will be tracked by the worker in this position, and recommendations for purchases will be offered by this person to the proper budgetary official (MDT Multimedia Specialist, Program Coordinators, Discipline Chair or Dean). This position will supervise use of editing suites and studios by students when class is not being held in these spaces. The position will require general maintenance of equipment and simple repairs as needed. This position will also supervise any part time workers (including work-study students) used to staff the Equipment Room and Studios, including times outside the hours of this position. The position will work closely with the Media Technologies’ Media Specialist to assure all equipment is in working order and to recommend maintenance, repair and replacement decisions to MDT faculty.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
60% Oversee and manage Equipment Room and use of PHO Studio, Audio Control Room, TV Studio and Editing Suites when not being used for class.
20% Maintain inventory of all equipment and supplies housed in the Equipment Room.
10% Maintain and/or complete minor repairs to equipment.
10% Train and manage work-study students and other part-time ‘after hours’ employees in this capacity.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· A.A.S in an Audio/Video/Photography is required. Working and repair knowledge of all equipment housed in the Equipment Room and a knowledge of all required/necessary equipment for a particular process.
· 2 years’ experience in areas such as audio production, video production, photography, media management, media production or audio/visual lab management. Scheduling knowledge, electronics/equipment repair and/or inventory maintenance desirable.
Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Proficiency in a second language is not required. Troubleshooting skills and multimedia skills are essential for everyday job duties. The ability to be flexible and creative when problem solving technical issues is mandatory. Managerial experience and media-related product knowledge is desirable.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: As the position is responsible for equipment repair, asset management, supplies and inventory control, this position should be able to prevent waste of salvageable equipment and research available products, solutions and repairs to maximize the technologies available, within the budgetary parameters.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Average physical exertion is required and will require possible lifting and moving of equipment of up to 50 pounds. This position can involve sitting for extended periods, walking to and from faculty offices, editing suites, and studios. Climbing stairs and ladders is occasionally required. Manual dexterity is important due to the precision tools and equipment that is used.

Pay Rate: $37,280 - $45,800/per year. Pay will be determined based on related work experience above required. To be considered in determining pay, all related work experience must be listed on the application.
