SCPSA is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for the following position: Water Treatment Operator This is a full-time position in our Treatment, Sewage Collection, and Water Distribution Department. The official job classification is Assistant Operator/Pay Band 2, Operator/Pay Band 3, or Senior Operator/Pay Band 4, depending on successful candidate's experience and qualifications. This position of full-time Water Treatment Operator is responsible for helping operate, organize, and participate in the water production and water distribution activities of SCPSA. Successful candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a valid driver's license. Successful candidates must possess a Virginia Waterworks Operator License Class 1, 2, or 3 (or equivalent from another state with Virginia reciprocity) and a minimum of five years working in a municipal surface water treatment plant. Familiarity with Commonwealth of Virginia Waterworks Regulations is desired. Successful applicants must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. License class and experience will be used to determine the wage rate.
