Advertising Sales Director – Six Rivers Media 

Location: Beautiful Eastern Tennessee • Kingsport

Six Rivers Media is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Advertising Sales Director to lead our sales team across our newspapers and digital marketing services agency. This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, mentoring the sales team by example, and contributing as a key member of the senior management team. 

The ideal candidate has a strong, proven sales background, preferably in the newspaper industry, along with demonstrated leadership and management experience. 

Key Responsibilities 

Sales & Revenue Growth 

• Lead by example and develop the sales team to **drive advertising revenue growth.
• Expand and maintain our active customer account base.
• Plan and execute special reader interest sections and strategic pricing initiatives for both print and digital products.
• Develop and implement ongoing education programs for sales staff, focusing on product knowledge and customer relationship-building.

What We’re Looking For 

• Prior management experience preferred; newspaper sales experience is a plus.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills, capable of meeting and exceeding deadlines.
• Proven experience in coaching, leading, and training sales teams, including consultative selling and cold calling techniques.
• Strong leadership abilities, with a talent for motivating and holding sales teams accountable for performance and growth.
• Excellent customer relationship skills, with a track record of networking and community involvement.
• Effective communicator with the ability to inspire and drive a high-performing sales culture.
