Overview

This position reports to the Leader, Drafting and Surveying, and provides drawings and maps for Engineering projects as well as those required by various company projects. Drawings and maps, produced using MicroStation and InRoads software packages, provide information for bid and construction projects, to obtain regulatory permits, and to document the completed construction projects. (Job placement will be consistent with experience, and all skill levels meeting or exceeding Minimum Qualifications shall be considered.)

• Works under the guidance of senior level designers
• Responsible for tracking & managing engineering drawings and file management between SSCGP & third party consultants
• Prepares detailed drawings in accordance with company standards, procedures, and specifications for use in modification or construction of natural gas compressor stations, meter & regulation facilities, valve settings, and catcher & launcher facilities
• Prepares detailed maps and alignment sheets in accordance with company standards, procedures, and specifications for use in modification or construction of natural gas pipelines, pipeline relocations, reroutes, and class location studies
• Prepares maps and exhibits required to support FERC filings and to obtain permits from state agencies
• Communicates with project engineers and Land & Environmental to determine drawing requirements, to obtain technical advice, to report status, and to establish priorities
• Estimates time required to complete work assignments

Minimum:

• Associate degree or a technical school diploma in technical or related field or equivalent work experience
• Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of 1-year experience in Design as a CAD Drafter
• Knowledge of MicroStation CAD or AutoCAD systems

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree in technical field or a 4-year technology degree or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of Mapping & Piping Design is a Plus +
• Knowledge of Mechanical Design is a Plus +
• Experience in Natural Gas Industry is also desired
• 3 years' experience in Design or 5+ years' experience in Design as a CAD Drafter
• Knowledge of InRoads / MicroStation CAD systems is desired
