Enrollment Management Administrative Assistant

 The University of Virginia's College at Wise invites applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide entry-level support to the College’s Enrollment Management unit that includes the Offices of Admissions, Financial Aid, Orientation & Special Programs, and Registrar.

Primary duties and responsibilities for the Administrative Assistant include serving as the greeter for visitors to Crockett Hall and answering primary telephone lines for multiple offices. Additional duties will include providing general and routine office support such as correspondence, calendars, data entry, budget and purchasing assistance, as well as other general duties that become necessary.

Minimum qualifications for the successful candidate include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience in a professional office setting 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills for a high level of customer service
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel and Outlook),
  • Superior organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask in a high traffic environment


This is primarily a sedentary job being seated at a desk for most of each day, performing many tasks requiring manual dexterity (i.e. computer work, answering phones, etc.).

Annual salary with benefits is $28,000.
